Rick Montooth, Basketball, 1973-1974
Competing only one season, Rick had one of the best seasons of any LLCC basketball player. He achieved the new season scoring record of 666 points, 384 rebounds, MVP, CIAC All-Conference and top sectional vote-getter for the NJCAA Region IV All-Star game. Returning to Culver-Stockton College, Montooth was a two-year starter averaging 15 points per game and earning team MVP honors his senior year.  He taught and coached in Springfield District 186 and was head basketball coach at Springfield Southeast High School for 14 years where his teams won six city championships.
