Hall of Fame
Claude served the college as an instructor and as a coach. During his tenure he coached the cross country team, served for six years as the assistant basketball coach, served eight years as the head golf coach, four years as athletic director, and 24 years as head baseball coach. Claude has been inducted into the Thornton Township High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Illinois State University Athletic Hall of Fame. His baseball teams have consistently been at the top of the rankings throughout his career; he has won over 600 games, more than 100 of his players have gone on to four-year institutions with athletic scholarships, and he has had four players from LLCC in the major leagues. Claude established and directed the LLCC Summer Baseball Camp program and also coached the Central Illinois Collegiate League Springfield Rifles Baseball club for 18 years.
