Loren lead the Loggers in hitting with a .373 batting average, with a 46 runs batted in, 8 home runs, 96 total bases and 38 runs during his sophomore year. Loren set a record in the Central Illinois Collegiate League in 1984 by hitting 21 home runs. Loren is rated the best overall catcher at LLCC. He attended Illinois State University playing varsity baseball as the starting catcher in 1984 and 1985. After graduation he was drafted by the Montreal Expos and played one year of professional baseball. His career was cut short by an arm injury. He remains active coaching baseball locally.
