The Loggers ran away with a Wednesday evening road contest against Carl Sandburg, 91-49.
Over halfway through the first half the game looked still in doubt with the score tied at 16-16. From there, the Loggers began to exert their dominance. Lincoln Land closed on a 19-7 run to go into half time, up 37 to 23. It didn't stop there, the Loggers raced out of the break with a 20-4 run, Loggers making their way to a 30 point lead over the Chargers. The 30 point lead eventually became 40 with a 10-0 run to end the game, allowed the Loggers to finish the game up by 42 points.
Carl Sandburg had one scorer in double digits, but the Loggers saw 5 players reach at least 11 points. Axel Laby ended with 11 points, while the top four scorers on the evening were Kyle Leonard, with 13, Camren Kincaid, with 14, Stephan Douglas, with 15, and Michael Ousley led the way with a career high of 25 points.
Defense was the key for Lincoln Land. The Loggers held Carl Sandburg to a season low of 49 points on 25% shooting form the field. The Charger's 49 points were also the least amount of points given up this season and the least they've given up since January 17, 2019. The Loggers forced an impressive 23 Charger turnovers on the night.
The Loggers now improve to 3-3 on the year. They stay on the road Saturday as they head to St. Louis to take on Fontbonne University.
