The 2026 season brought another major accomplishment for the Lincoln Land Community College softball program as sophomores Shelby Finchum and Faith Nestler earned Region 24 All-Region honors following standout seasons for the Loggers.
Finchum proved to be one of the most dynamic offensive players in the region throughout the year. Her ability to consistently get on base, hit for power, and create scoring opportunities made her a centerpiece of the Lincoln Land lineup. Finchum finished the season batting .417 while recording 53 hits, including 17 doubles, three triples, and four home runs. She also scored an impressive 50 runs while driving in 30 RBIs.
What separated Shelby even further was her discipline and consistency at the plate. She drew 21 walks while striking out only six times all season, showing tremendous control and confidence in every at-bat. Combined with her speed on the bases, where she stole 11 bases, Finchum became one of the toughest all-around players for opposing teams to contain.
In the circle, Faith Nestler anchored the pitching staff with one of the strongest seasons in Region 24. Nestler threw 117 innings across 25 appearances and 19 starts while earning 13 victories during the season. Her 2.33 ERA and .236 opponent batting average highlighted her ability to consistently shut down opposing offenses.
Faith also displayed dominance with 85 strikeouts on the year, including 42 looking strikeouts, demonstrating her command and ability to keep hitters off balance. Time after time, Nestler stepped into pressure situations and delivered quality performances that gave the Loggers a chance to compete against some of the top teams in the region.
Together, Finchum and Nestler helped lead Lincoln Land through a memorable season defined by toughness, consistency, and growth. Their All-Region honors not only recognized their individual performances but also reflected the continued rise of the Loggers softball program as one of the top competitors in Region 24.
