The Loggers came out today fired up and determined to have a better showing than their previous match against conference rival Cobras when the Loggers were defeated 8-3 at Parkland earlier this season.
The Loggers were able to get a jump on the Cobras in the third minute of the game when Blair Keebler intercepted a pass, then proceeded to race past two Cobra defenders to beat the keeper near side for the first goal of the game.
The score would remain 1-0 until the 33rd minute when the Cobras scored on a set piece just outside the goal box. Just before halftime the Cobras were able to find the goal again when Faith Niebrugge, third in national scoring, weaved through the middle of the Loggers defense and put their second goal on the scoreboard.
The Loggers continued to play well, conceding one goal in the second half on an overloaded cross that was headed in by the Cobras.
