Women’s basketball gets back to winning

The #10 ranked Lincoln Land Loggers women's basketball team won their 21st game of the year by defeating Robert Morris 83-50.  The Loggers jumped out to a 12-0 first quarter lead and never trailed in the game.  Lincoln Land didn't shoot particularly well in the contest but still managed to score more than their 78.5 point average.  Robert Morris managed to cut the lead to 6 points in the second quarter. However, Lincoln Land re-grouped and took a 20 point lead into halftime.  The Loggers continued to extend the lead during the third and fourth quarter for a final of 83-50.

"It was nice to get a win but there are some things we need to do better,"  stated Coach Jones.  "We begin the second half of the conference schedule this Saturday and we have to be dialed in on each end of the floor.  Obviously, we need to shoot the ball better and  finish around the rim.  We'll take tomorrow off and hopefully the girls can get some rest before we get started with the final 3 weeks of the season."

Katryel Clark was tough again on the block as she scored 19 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.  Chelby Harden and Madison Jones each contributed 11 points while Nicole Robinson chipped in 10.  Rounding out the Logger's scoring were Madison Jernigen (8),  Havilyn Dulin (7), Jolene Bueker (6), Taryn Sams (6), Katie Rhodes (3), Trissa Shawgo (2).  Jolene Bueker and Katie Rhodes each had 7 rebounds.
