The #8 ranked Lincoln Land women's basketball team will be making their third straight trip to the NJCAA National Championships. The Loggers (28-4) were selected as one of four at large selections to this year's tournament. The Tournament begins March 16
th in Hickory, NC. Lincoln Land is seeded #9 in the tournament and has a first-round bye. The Loggers will face #8 seed North Iowa Area College in the second round at 2pm Tuesday March 17
th. The Loggers lost to Illinois Central College in the Region 24 championship on Saturday and had to wait until the selections show on Tuesday to see if they were selected for an at large spot. "We were fairly confident we'd get in. It was just a question of what our seed was going to be" said Logger coach Chad Jones. The Loggers have made back to back round of eight appearances the past two seasons and look forward to competing again this year. "It's really fun for the kids. They have worked hard all year and dealt with a lot of adversity lately. I am just happy for the chance to go play a couple more games" said Jones.
North Iowa Area College is coming off a 27-3 season and a Region 11 Championship to receive an automatic bid. The tournament will be played at the Tarlton Athletic Complex at Catawba College.
