The #8 ranked Lincoln Land Loggers played host to Spoon River College in the opening round of the NJCAA Region 24 tournament and scored a decisive 84-47 victory. The Loggers started out sluggish and found themselves done by a score of 11-5 before coach Chad Jones called a timeout. That proved to be the spark as Lincoln Land went on a 10-0 run and never trailed again. The Loggers took a 48-23 halftime lead.
The second half saw the Loggers slowly distance themselves and pull away for an easy victory. The Loggers had six players in double figures lead by sophomore Lillie Woodworths 18 points. Alexis Wade scored 14 while Zoey Beehn contributed 12. Kylie Robinson, Ella Demler, and Isabella Tiburzi all chipped in 11 points. Zoey Beehn lead the Loggers with six rebounds while Isabella Tiburzi, Kylie Robinson, and Alexis Wade each grabbed five. The Loggers improve to 27-3 on the season and will travel to Parkland College for a rematch of last weeks game in which the Loggers won by 13. The winner of this game will advance to the Region 24 championship game.
