The #11 ranked Lincoln Land women's basketball team's 96-40 victory over Spoon River came fast and decisively.  The Loggers jumped out to a 27-11 first quarter lead behind Marley Smith's 11 points. Whitney Rumbold also drained a 3 point basket in the period as well.
Lincoln Land stepped up defensively in the second quarter. The Loggers held Spoon River to a game low 5 points in the frame. Once again, Smith lead the offensive attack with 7 points. Sam Lindhorst hit a three against the Spoon River zone as the Loggers took a 53-16 advantage going into halftime.
The second half was much of the same as Lincoln Land outscored Spoon River 43-15. Megan Harrell lead the way with 13 points while Trinity Tingley drained two more 3 point baskets.
The 96-40 win improved Lincoln Land's overall record to 21-3 and 7-1 in MWAC play.
Megan Harrell lead the offensive attack with 22 points and Marley Smith finishing with 20. Rounding out the Logger scoring were Avrie Schmidt 12, Trinity Tingley 11, Sam Lindhorst 9, Rilee Riggs 7, Olivia Marchizza 7, Whitney Rumbold 6 and Nolee Sollars 2.
Lincoln Land returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 14 as they host Lewis & Clark in a 5:30 contest.
