Logger's Softball Fall to St. Charles Community College on Opening Day

LLCC vs St. Charles CC (Game 1):
The Lincoln Land Loggers fought back after falling down by ten runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 11-10 defeat to St. Charles Community College on Saturday.  Lincoln Land scored ten runs in the failed comeback on a fielder's choice by Mady Wear, a single by Maranda File, a single by Molly Hughes, a fielder's choice by Hannah Myers, an error during Sidney Glick's at bat, a single by Alivia Hemberger, and a triple by Wear.
Despite the loss, The Loggers did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, St. Charles Community College had 12 hits on the way to victory.
Janna Joerling pitched St. Charles Community College to victory. Joerling went one-third of an inning, allowing five runs on one hit.  Kelly Allensworth threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Torrie McAdams took the loss for The Loggers. McAdams surrendered one run on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, walking zero.
File started the game for Lincoln Land. The pitcher allowed eight hits and ten runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three Jocelyn Cunningham started the game for St. Charles Community College. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out six
The Loggers scattered 11 hits in the game.  File, Wear, and Hemberger each racked up multiple hits for Lincoln Land.  File went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead The Loggers in hits.
St. Charles saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  Hunter Collins and Mallory Waller each had multiple hits for St. Charles Community College.
LLCC vs. St. Charles CC (Game 2):
Anna Cheatham earned the win for St. Charles in second game. The righthander surrendered three runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Karley Moore took the loss for The Loggers. The righty surrendered six runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. Mady Wear led Lincoln Land with two hits in two at bats.
St. Charles totaled nine hits.  Kylee Orf and Brooke Scott all managed multiple hits for St. Charles.  Orf went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead St. Charles in hits.  St. Charles Community College didn't commit a single error in the field. Apryl Zeno had the most chances in the field with six.
