The Loggers traveled to St. Louis for their first road trip of the year and struggled offensively on their way to dropping a contest to St. Louis Community College, 72-57.
The Loggers found themselves trailing by close to double digits and faced some foul trouble in the first half, but despite those set backs they were able to keep it close by trailing 34-30 at that half break.
The second half was a different story. Although the Loggers came out with some hot play and briefly took a lead, But from their the game was all St. Louis. The Arches turned up their defensive pressure and the Loggers struggled to score and a small lead ballooned to double digits and then ballooned again to 20 for St. Louis. Evidence of the Logger offensive woes is the fact that on the night the Loggers converted 16 field goals and turned the ball over 22 times. That alone spells disaster for most teams, but St Louis added in out-rebounding LLCC 46-35.
Lincoln Land, who falls to 1-1 on the season, was led by freshman Camden Kincaid who had 14. Freshman Axel Laby was the only other Logger to get to double digits ending with 12.
LLCC has a chance to regain their footing because their next game is Saturday at home against Lewis and Clark. Tip will be 3:00 pm at Cass Gymnasium.
