The #10 ranked Loggers faced off against MWAC foe Danville and cruised to a 74-42 victory. Lincoln Land started of sluggish and allowed Danville to take a 9-3 lead midway through the first quarter. The Loggers scored twice in the post and managed to cut the deficit to 14-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Jaguars of Danville used a very patient offense and extended zone defense to slow the usually fast Logger transition game. "Danville had a great game plan and it caused us problems early" stated Logger coach Chad Jones.
The second quarter was much of the same until the final two minutes of the half. In this time frame, the Loggers forced six turnovers and outscored Danville 12-0. The Half time score favored the Loggers 34-22.
The second half saw the Logger defense and press take its toll on the Jaguars. The Loggers nearly doubled up Danville by out scoring them 39-20 in the second half. The final score was a comfortable 73-42 decision for the Loggers. Lincoln Land struggle from the three-point line going just 6-23, nearly ten percent under their season average of 35%. The Loggers outrebounded Danville by a margin of 48-25.
The Loggers were led in scoring by Kylie Robinson with 17, Isabella Tiburzi 15, and Zoey Beehn with 11. Beehn and Tiburzi both pulled down 10 rebounds to finish with double/doubles. Guard Alexis Wade pulled down seven rebounds. Lillie Wood worth and Ella Demler both dished out four assists. The Loggers improved to 22-2 and 9-2 in MWAC play. The Loggers play host to Lewis and Clark on Wednesday at 5:30pm for their Timber Takeover and Homecoming game.
