#4 Lincoln Land Continue the hot Streak

The #4 ranked Lincoln Land women's basketball team played host to rival MWAC school Lake Land College and scored a decisive 81-49 victory Wednesday night at Cass Gym.  The game started hot for Lake Land as they started the game with back to back three point baskets.  Lincon Land then followed with back to back two point baskets, as neither team could miss.  The first quarter was a back and forth affair that ultimately ended with Lincoln Land up 19-16.  The second quarter followed in the same manner with teams trading baskets.  Lincoln Land would out score Lake Land by five in the period to take a 34-26 half time lead. "I wasn't overly pleased with our effort and aggressiveness in the first half" stated coach Chad Jones.

The second half saw the press of the Loggers slowly take its toll on Lake Land.  Lincoln Land forced the pace of the game and started scoring in transition.  The Lakers committed 16 second half turnovers.  The Logger defense held Lake Land to just 10 points in the third quarter.   The final period saw the Loggers double up the Lakers by scoring 26 points in the final frame. The Loggers won by a final margin of 81-49.  "This was a much closer game than the score indicates" said Jones. "I loved the energy and effort we played with the second half."   Lincoln Land placed five players in double figures with Lauren Chastain and Lillie Woodworth leading the way with 16 each.  Kylie Robinson scored 15, Isabella Tiburzi 12, and Hunter Mowrey chipped in 10.  Zoey Beehn lead the Loggers with 10 rebounds. Lincoln Land improves to 15-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.  Lincoln Land will travel to Danville on Saturday for a 1pm tip.
