Loggers Win on the Road

#5 Lincoln Land women's basketball team got their 18th win of the year by defeating Kaskaskia 90-40. The Loggers were able to dismantle the 2-3 zone of the Blue Angels throughout the game and never trailed.

Lincoln Land took a 20-13 first quarter lead. The Loggers' advantage came mainly from the charity stripe. Megan Harrell, Whitney Rumbold and Alexis Wade combined to go 9/12. Mae Herman hit the lone three point basket in the period.

The second quarter was dominated by sophomore Megan Harrell. The 5'10 forward scored 9 points which included a 3 point basket. Mae Herman once again was on fire from the 3 point line as she buried two more treys. The Loggers poured in 30 points in the frame while a stifling defense gave up a mere 7 points.

The third and fourth quarters were much like the first half. Lincoln Land continued to use a stingy defense along with a potent offense. Freshman guard Lauren Chastain connected on two made 3 pointer while Freshman Ella Guerrero drained one as the Loggers cruised to the 90-40 victory.

Megan Harrell had a game high 24 points and 10 rebounds. Mae Herman finished with 13, Taylor Blehm 11 and Whitney Rumbold had 10.
