In front of a large crowd for Super Fan Day, the Lincoln Land Loggers (9-1) earned a 6-1 win over Morton College (7-5) on September 30, 2024.
The Loggers started strong, with Kyndel Moore scoring in the 9th minute from an assist by Sophia Smith. Kaleigh Meyer added to the lead in the 16th minute with a penalty kick to make it 2-0. Morton College pulled one back in the 31st minute, but the Loggers answered quickly with goals by Makayla Elam in the 37th minute and Adi Fraase, assisted by Elam, in the 43rd minute to go into halftime up 4-1.
In the second half, the Loggers maintained control. Sophia Smith scored in the 78th minute, with an assist from Moore, and Kinley Richardson added the final goal in the 87th minute to secure the 6-1 result.
Goalkeeper Abi Stephens recorded five saves – three in the first half and two in the second – while allowing one goal.
The Loggers had 32 total shots, with 24 on target, and earned seven corner kicks during the game.
Next, Lincoln Land will host Triton College at home on October 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM for Sophomore Day.
