The #9 Lincoln Land women's played host to MWAC rival John Wood and lost at the buzzer 63-60.  Lincoln Land  and John Wood matched baskets for the first quarter with an end of period score of 14-14.  Marley Smith was most of the Logger offense in the period scoring eight points.  The second period saw the Loggers struggle to score.  Lincoln Land managed just 12 points in the period and shot a dismal 25% from the field.  During this same stretch, John Wood managed to not only out score the Loggers, but to out rebound them. "The first half was very uninspiring" said coach Jones.  Despite playing poorly, the Loggers we down just four points 30-26.

The second half didn't prove to be much better for Lincoln Land.  The Logger defense struggled and John Wood found several open shots.  Things were really going John Woods way as they hit a half court buzzer beater to end the third period.  Lincoln Land managed to scratch back and tie the game on two free throws by Whitney Rumbold with seven seconds left in the game.  John Wood then called time out to advance the ball.  Lincoln Land played solid defense, yet a contested deep three by John Wood found the bottom of the net to seal the lose for Lincoln Land.  "I didn't have the team ready tonight" said Jones, "As coaches, we have to do better."  

Marley Smith led Lincoln Land with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Whitney Rumbold chipped in 10.  Megan Harrell pulled down 10 rebounds.
Lincoln Land suffers their first home loss of the season and falls to 23-4 (9-2 MWAC).  They will travel to #11 ranked Parkland College on Saturday.
