The Lincoln Land Loggers men's basketball team got their first win of the season and they did so in enormous famous, winning against Quincy University's JV 104-46.
QU got the first bucket of the game, but Lincoln Lans responded one immediately on the other end and that would be the sole time the Loggers trailed all evening. Lincoln Land pulled away a bit more each media timeout, first by 3, then 9, then 14 and ending the half up 49-24. The second half saw the Loggers outscore Quincy 55-22. Lincoln Land eclipsed the triple digit mark and ended the game ahead 104-46.
The game is one of the highest point totals in years for the Loggers. In the last 10 years, LLCC has gotten to 100 only two other times. The 58 point victory is also one of the largest margins of victory in school history.
Ten Loggers played and each of them a scored at least 6 points. Six of those Loggers got to double digits: Kendall Lavender (11), AJ Tillman, Mick Downs, Nate Moore all with 12, Camden Nelson ended with 13, but the leading scorer for the Loggers was Stephan Braun who had a career high 17. Downs also pulled in a game high 9 boards. Gus McCrary may have had the most complete game as he ended with 7 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Lincoln Land improves to 1-10 on the season. They take a short break for finals and to rest for their last two games before break. Next Tuesday the Loggers stay home to take on Illinois Valley Community College before ending the season on the road on Friday the 20th against Black Hawk Moline.
