Lincoln Land falls to Jefferson College at Home

Lincoln Land fell to Jefferson College in a men's basketball meeting on Saturday afternoon, 83-70.

The Vikings of Jefferson College got the first two buckets of the game to go up 5-0 and the Loggers were never able to overcome that lead. The closest Lincoln Land would get was 2 points, but the Vikings rattled off a few scoring runs and were up by as many as 12 in the first half. After trailing by double digits, Lincoln Land was unable to get closer than 9 in that first half and went into the half trailing 41-31.

Lincoln Land got the first two buckets off the second half to get within 3, but Jefferson College responded and went on a 12-2 run and got their lead back to 10+ points. The game only became closer with  under 3:00 to play as a three pointer by Gus McCrary cut the score to 77-70. Unfortunately for LLCC, that was the last field goal they were able to get and the Vikings put the game away, 83-70.

All ten Loggers who played, scored. Sophomore Logan Tomlinson became the 6th different Logger to lead the team in scoring this season with a season and career high 12. Two other Loggers got to double digits, freshmen Gus McCrary and sophomore Kendall Lavender both ended with 10. Both were also career highs for the pair. Lincoln Land had balanced scoring as four other Loggers had at least 7 points.

Lincoln Land falls to 0-8 on the season. Their next chance is to avenge and earlier season loss to St. Louis Community College on Wednesday evening at Cass Gymnasium.
