LLCC vs Lewis & Clark Game 1:
Saturday's game against Lewis & Clark was a heartbreaker for the Loggers, as they lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Lewis & Clark batting in the bottom of the fifth when Bailey Teasley induced Madeline Strieker to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Lincoln Land got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for the Loggers.
Lewis & Clark knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning, when an error scored one run for Lewis & Clark. Taylor Whitehead got the start for Lewis & Clark. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out four and walking zero.
Teasley was in the circle for Lincoln Land. The righty went six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out five and walking one. Nyla Cooper, Maranda File, and Mady Wear all had one hit to lead Lincoln Land. Lewis & Clark totaled nine hits in the game. Grace Myers, Lizzie Beckmann, and Nicole Blumer all managed multiple hits for Lewis & Clark.
LLCC vs Lewis & Clark Game 2:
The Loggers put up six runs in the fourth on its way to a 9-2 victory over Lewis & Clark on Saturday. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Lydia Bender, Torrie McAdams, Molly Hughes, and Maranda File and by Haley Willan. In the first inning, Lewis & Clark got their offense started. Lizzie Beckmann drove in one when Beckmann doubled.
Lincoln Land pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Bender singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, McAdams singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Hughes singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and File singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Karley Moore was the winning pitcher for the Loggers. The righthander allowed nine hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 11.
Carlye Ornellas was on the rubber for Lewis & Clark Community College. Ornellas allowed seven hits and five runs over three innings, walking one. Leah Link and Taylor Whitehead entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and two innings respectively.
Lincoln Land racked up 13 hits. Willan, Bender, Hughes, Charlotte Hayes, and Sidney Glick all had multiple hits for Lincoln Land Loggers. Glick, Hayes, Hughes, Bender, and Willan all had two hits to lead the Loggers Lewis & Clark Community racked up nine hits on the day. Beckmann, Ornellas, and Molly Novack all managed multiple hits for Lewis & Clark.
