Logger Softball Fall to Heartland in Double Header

LLCC vs Heartland Game 1:
Lincoln Land fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-4 loss to Heartland Community College. Heartland scored on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Malone, an error, and a groundout by Mya Robinson in the second inning.

The Hawks scored three runs in the fourth inning.  The big inning for Heartland came thanks to a single by Danielle Bogle and a double by Grace Wyman. Malone got the win for Heartland, the pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out three and walking zero.  Lauren Shively threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Bailey Teasley led things off in the circle for the Loggers. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out two. Lincoln Land socked one home run on the day. Maranda File went for the long ball in the second inning. Nyla Cooper went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lincoln Land Loggers in hits. Bogle led Heartland with two hits in three at bats.

LLCC vs Heartland Game 2:
Friday's game against Heartland Community College was a heartbreaker for the Loggers, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat.  The game was tied at six with Heartland batting in the bottom of the fifth when Mya Robinson doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Lincoln Land collected eight hits and Heartland had 14 in the high-scoring affair. Lincoln Land got things moving in the first inning, when Lincoln Land Loggers scored two runs on a stolen base. The Loggers notched four runs in the second inning. The Loggers offense in the inning came from singles by Alivia Hemberger, Andee Brown, and Mady Wear and an error on a ball put in play by Lydia Bender.

Heartland scored three runs in the second inning.  The offensive onslaught by Heartland was led by Danielle Bogle and Grace Wyman, all driving in runs in the inning. Morgan Malone pitched Heartland to victory. The righty lasted five and a third innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out two. Karley Moore started the game for Lincoln Land . The righty went six innings, allowing eight runs on 14 hits, striking out four and walking zero. Amber Teimeyer started the game for Heartland. The righthander allowed five hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, walking zero

The Loggers racked up eight hits in the game.  Wear and Brown each had multiple hits for Lincoln Land.  Brown and Wear all had two hits to lead Lincoln Land.  Hemberger led the Loggers with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
