Loggers Softball lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat to Parkland College on Monday. The game was tied at one with Parkland College batting in the bottom of the sixth when Reagan Cheely homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Parkland College pitchers struck out 12, while Loggers Softball sat down four.
In the bottom of the third inning, Parkland College tied things up at one. Sydney Eichelberger drove in one when Eichelberger singled.
Chayse Ramey took the win for Parkland College. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 12.
Alli Brumleve took the loss for Loggers Softball. Brumleve allowed seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Kate Finchum, Makenna Byers, and Katie Schaake each managed one hit to lead Loggers Softball. Loggers Softball was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kelsey Tinder had the most chances in the field with six.
Madison Vogel led Parkland College with two hits in two at bats.
