Women’s basketball moves on in postseason with win over Lewis and Clark

The Lincoln Land women's basketball team faced Lewis and Clark in the Region 24 quarterfinals at Cass Gym and came away with a 76-56 victory.  Lincoln Land jumped out to a quick 10-2 lead and dominated the entire first quarter.  Maclayne Taylor lead the Loggers in the period with eight points.  The Logger defense was the story of the first period holding Lewis and Clark to just five points on two field goals.
 
Lewis and Clark got hot in the second quarter and managed to score 19 points behind three 3point field goals in the period.  However, the Logger offense got hot behind Kennedy Bauer who scored 13 points in the period.  Lincoln Land managed to put up a staggering 32 points in the period to lead 53-24 at the half.
 
Lewis and Clark outscored the Loggers in the second half by four as the Logger offense went cold and managed just 11 points in the third period.  Fortunately for the Loggers, Katryel Clark took over and scored 13 of her game high 25 in the fourth period.  Lincoln Land advances to the Region 24 semifinals on Saturday at Illinois Central College.  Lincoln Land was lead in scoring by Clark with 25.  Maclayne Taylor contributed 15.  Kennedy Bauer had 13 and Christina Walker 12 respectively.  Clark lead the Loggers in rebounding with 13.  Hannah Wallen pulled down nine and Christina walker contributed eight rebounds. Christina Walker had five assists to lead the Loggers.  Maclayne Taylor contributed four steal.  Lincoln Land improves to 27-4 on the season, tying last year's school record for wins.
