The #5 ranked Lincoln Land Loggers took on conference foe John Wood College and scored their 26
th victory of the season with a score of 75-59. The game was the final regular season home games for seven Lincoln Land sophomores. The Loggers started the game quickly and jumped to a 4-0 lead only to see John Wood hit four first quarter three point baskets to take a 11-20 lead at the break. The second quarter the Loggers offense started making some noise. Lincoln Land outscored the Trailblazers 17-9 in the second period and trailed 29-28 at the half. "We were completely flat in the first half. I don't know if it was the pregame celebration of our sophomores, but we were not focused at all." Stated Logger coach Chad Jones
The second half was back to business for the Loggers. They scored 22 points in the period behind Katryel Clarks seven points. Clark spent most of the first half on the bench in foul trouble and was held scoreless in the first two periods. Sadie Bueker hit two three point field goals in the third period to help the Loggers extend their Lead 50-42 at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter saw the Loggers defense turn up and get seven steals in route to scoring 25 points. Hannah Wallen and Havilyn Dulin each had three steals in the final period. The Loggers were lead in scoring by freshman Sadie Bueker with 21 points. Hannah Wallen contributed 14 points. Katryel Clark scored all 11 of her points in the second half. Clark lead Lincoln Land with 10 rebounds. Hannah Wallen and Havilyn Dulin each had five assists to the Loggers. Lincoln Land, who is #5 in the latest NJCAA poll, improves to 26-3 and plays at Parkland College in the final game of the regular season
on Saturday at 1pm.
