The #3 ranked Lincoln Land women's basketball team began M-WAC play
Saturday afternoon against Lewis & Clark. The Loggers came away with an impressive 107-72 win. Lincoln Land, which won it's 20th game of the season against 1 loss, has gotten off to the best start in school history.
The Loggers started the game on a 13-0 run before the Trailblazers were able to get on the scoreboard. All-American, Katryel Clark, led the way with 7 first quarter points to give LLCC a 24-16 first quarter lead.
The offensive explosion continued for Lincoln Land during the second quarter. The Loggers cashed in 32 points and saw eight different players score during the period en-route to a 56-33 halftime lead.
Lincoln Land remained hot after the half. Jolene Bueker knocked down some old fashion jump shots early and often to score 10 points during the quarter. Hannah Wallen added 7 points as the Loggers outscored L & C 30-24 to take an 86-56 lead into the final frame.
The Loggers closed out the game behind Madison Jernigan's 7 points and won easily 107-72.
Katryel Clark was once again a dominant force for the Loggers as she finished with another double/double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Other Lincoln Land scorers were: Sadie Bueker (17), Jolene Bueker (16), Hannah Wallen (14), Maclayne Taylor (10), Madison Jernigan (10), Havilyn Dulin (8), Christina Walker (5), Kennedy Bauer (2), Megan Silvey (2).
Kennedy Bauer pulled down 7 rebounds while Maclayne Taylor had 7. Jolene Bueker and Hannah Wallen each finished with 6.
Maclayne Taylor led the Loggers in assists with 7. Jolene Bueker also had 5 assists.
The Loggers return to action at home
on Wednesday, Jan. 29 against Danville Area C.C. Tip off is
at 5:30pm.
