Women’s basketball gets to 12-1 with another win

The Lincoln Land women's basketball team faced off against St. Louis Community College at Cass Gym Tuesday night and came away with a 92-52 victory.  The Loggers started out slow and found themselves down  ten to six just three minutes into the game before Logger coach Chad Jones called a  quick timeout.  Lincoln Land then went on a small run fueled by a Sadie Bueker three point basket to take a 19-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.  The second quarter is when the Logger offense heated up.  The Loggers poured in 28 points in the quarter and held St. Louis to just eight.  The half time score was 46-22 in favor of the home team.
 
The second half featured much of the same as the Loggers extended their lead to as much as 46 in the second half.  Lincoln used hot shooting and solid defense to comfortably put the game away by a final score 92-52.  Lincoln Land was lead in scoring by Sadie Bueker with 15 points.  Katryel Clark  chipped in 12, Hannah Wallen and Madison Jernigan both finished with 11 respectively.  The Loggers hit an impressive 14 three point field goals in the game. The Loggers were lead in rebounding by Christina Walker and Kennedy Bauer with six boards each.  Clark and Sophomore point guard Havilyn Dulin had 5 boards as well. Dulin also had five assists, a team high.
 
Lincoln Land, who is currently ranked #4 in the NJCAA polls, returns home to finish the year out with a contest against D1 foe Rend Lake College of Ina, IL.  Lincoln Land improves to 12-1 on the season.
