Women's basketball gets second conference win in a row

Jones continues her hot play with 22 points

The Lincoln Land Lady defeated Danville Area C.C. 71-34 Saturday afternoon.  The  Loggers led 13-5after the first quarter and took a 31-14 halftime lead.  Lincoln Land came out after the half and extended the lead to 48-26 after three.  Lincoln went on to outscore the Jaguars 23-8 during the fourth quarter for the final score of 71-34.

Lincoln Land had another good shooting game going 27/62 (44%) from the field, 5/15 (33%) from the 3 pt. line and finished 12/18 (67%) from the free throw line.   The Loggers forced 20 turnovers and held a 32-20 rebounding edge.

"We played very consistent today," stated Coach Albert after the game.  "I thought we did a nice job defensively and disrupted DACC on their offensive end.  We were able to pick up our defensive pressure after halftime which led to some transition points.  Offensively, we got better as the game went on. Their 1-2-2 zone kind of slowed the game down early in the contest but we were patient and had decent ball movement against it. When Danville went man, we executed our sets and got the shots we wanted."

"It was nice to get a win for our 6 Sophomores who were playing in their final regular season home game.  I appreciate the commitment and hard work they have put in over the past two years.  We'll definitely miss having them next year."

Madison Jones led Lincoln Land with  a game high 22 points, 3 steals and 5 rebounds.  Ella Nelson finished the game with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.  Brooke Ferree had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.  Hannah Krukewitt had 7 points and 3 rebounds.  Lindsey Storm finished with 5 points.  Hannah Cameron had 4 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
