Loggers Improve to 21-15 in Sweep against MacMurray

The Loggers came out swinging today as they swept the Highlanders of MacMurray, 22-0 and 16-8.

Morgan Heckman 6 for 7 and 11 RBIs
Morgan Heckman led the Loggers offense in game one, going 3-for-3 a home run, double and 6 RBIs.  Katie McLean was 3-for-5 with a lead off triple, RBI and 3 runs scored.  Whitney David was 2-for-2 with a triple, double, 3 RBIs, 2 walks, HBP and 3 runs scored.  Ashton Dyche was 2-for-4 with home run 2 RBIs.  Maggie Comerford also contributed going 2-for-2 with an RBI, 2 walks and HBP (16th).  Madie Routh was 1-for-3 with 3 runs scored and Bri Graham doubled two runs home in the 4th inning. Reserve outfield/pinch runner Ella Nelson went 1-1 with 2 walks, sac fly and 2 RBIs.  Lexy Koester was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs.

Brittany Roady (3-9) was the winnng pitcher going 4 innings of scoreless ball on 2 hits and 5 Ks.  Whitney David pitched the 5th inning to keep the shutout in tack, allowing 1 hit and 1 strikeout.

The Loggers continued to swing a big bat as Morgan Heckman stayed alive as she went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and back-to-back home runs in the 1st (grand slam) and 3rd innings (lead off solo).  Ashton Dyche was 2-for-4, 3 RBIs and a walk off base hit in the 6th tor run rule the Highlanders.  Catcher Lexy Koester was 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Ella Nelson was 1-for-3 with and RBI sac fly.

Madie Routh (6-3) was the winning pitcher.  Routh went 4 innings and allowed 8 runs (7 earned) on 14 hits and 2 Ks.  Whitney David finished the game in relief going 2 innings and 2 strikeouts.

The Loggers are now 21-15 overall and 10-6 in the MWAC.  LLCC will face John Wood Friday at home and travel to Quincy to complete the 4 game set on Saturday.
