The Lincoln Land Lady Loggers defeated Blackhawk-Moline 82-68 at the Lincoln Classic.
LLCC led the contest after each quarter and finished strong to notch their first win of the season. Lincoln Land shot 33/80 (41.3%)from the field and went 13/15 from the free throw line (86.7%). The Loggers forced Blackhawk into 36 turnovers.
Coach Albert was pleased to get the first win of the season. " I'm happy to see our hard work being rewarded with a win. We're still trying to get healthy but our Freshmen are getting battled tested. This will be helpful later in the season. We still have a lot of work to do on the defensive end. Madison Jones and Nicole Robinson played well defensively and each had 9 steals."
Robinson and Jones also led the Loggers in scoring with 15 and 14 points each. Denzelle Moore had 12 and Chelby Harden finished with 10. Moore led LLCC with 8 rebounds and Brooke Ferree pulled down 7.
Lincoln Land will play continue play in the Lincoln Classic when they meet Kishwaukee C.C. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11:30am.
