Ben Hecht, 5-0 W/L
The LLCC baseball Loggers (17-10) thumped the Lincoln College Lynx on Saturday afternoon, winning the first two games of the four game conference series.

Lincoln Land did not waist any time in game one, as they sent 11 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning scoring 7 runs on 7 hits in the inning. Starting pitcher Ben Hecht (2 for 3) started the scoring rally with a two run single that scored Tyler Ring and Conor White (2 for 4).  After a walk to Jake Morsch, Xavier Collier, Peyton Minder (2 for 3), Sam Anderson (3 for 3), and Tyler Borski hit RBI singles to cap the big inning.  The Loggers added four more runs in the second inning, highlighted by run scoring doubles from both Minder and Anderson.  The game was ended in the bottom of the fifth inning by "run-rule" when Conor White belted a double off the right field wall that scored Borski, giving the Lincoln Land a ten run lead.

Ben Hecht (5-0) pitched the complete game, surrendering 2 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk, 3 hit batters, and he struck out 5.

Game two was more of the same from the Loggers, and even a glimpse of deja vu.  Conor White again found himself at the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning with a chance to end the game, and he again delivered with a double to the right field wall, this time scoring two runs to put Lincoln Land up 11-1.  Tyler Borski, Jake Morsch, and Xavier Collier collected two hits apiece and each drove in a run.

Ryan Arnold (4-1) picked up the win on the mound for the Loggers.  Arnold gave up Lincoln College's only run in the top of the first when Lynx lead off man Jamie Valdez tripled and scored on a wild pitch.  The sophomore right-hander settled down and did not allow another hit, completing the game and striking out ten.

"We took care of business today. We got two solid pitching performances from Hecht and Arnold and the offense executed to support their effort," coach Riggle said after the games.  "Every conference game and series is important, we can't take any game for granted, we need to come out and do it again tomorrow and finish the series strong."

The Loggers travel to Lincoln College tomorrow and will play another double header starting at 1pm.  You can follow the games via the Internet through iscore central app.
