Loggers Split with Top Team in the Conference

Loggers Stymied By ICC Cougars Baseball

Loggers couldn't keep up with ICC Cougars Baseball and fell 12-4 on Monday.

ICC Cougars Baseball opened the scoring in the second after Corley doubled, scoring two runs. ICC Cougars Baseball added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when an error scored two runs, and Miller hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. ICC Cougars Baseball scored one run in the bottom of the seventh on a solo home run to left field by Lapp.

Clifton earned the win for ICC Cougars Baseball. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and four runs (two earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none. Goss took the loss for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, surrendering eight runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking none.
Turner, Geis, Lennington, and Brown each drove in one run for the Loggers. Geis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits.

Moffatt Drives 5 Runners Home In Loggers Victory Over ICC Cougars Baseball

Moffatt drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Loggers past ICC Cougars Baseball 7-5 on Monday. Moffatt doubled in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the seventh inning, scoring three. The Loggers came back to win despite trailing 5-1 in the fifth. The Loggers were the first to get on the board in the third when Cox doubled, scoring one run.

ICC Cougars Baseball jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after McCoy homered to center field, Lapp singled to right field, Corley singled down the right field line, and Heider hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

A single by Moffatt gave the Loggers the lead, 7-5, in the top of the seventh. Powers earned the win for the Loggers. The reliever gave up zero hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking none. Bizosky took the loss for ICC Cougars Baseball. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs (two earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking three. Wheeler started on the mound for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and five runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Jack started on the bump for ICC Cougars Baseball. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (three earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking four. Winkeler collected the save. Bowles paced the Loggers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game.
