Turner's Big Day Propels The Loggers Past Illinois College JV

Turner drove in four runs on five hits to lead the Loggers past Illinois College JV16-6 on Wednesday. Turner doubled in the fourth scoring two, hit a solo home run to left field in the first scoring one, and doubled in the seventh scoring one.
The Loggers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two home runs. The Loggers first got on the board when Turner hit a solo home run to left field. A sacrifice fly by Brown extended the Loggers lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
The Loggers scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Turner doubled, scoring two runs, Bowles singled, scoring one run, Cox tripled, scoring one run, and Barnes grounded out, scoring one run. Tame earned the win for the Loggers. The starter gave up one hit and one run over four innings, striking out one and walking four. Sievers took the loss for Illinois College JV. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out five and walking two. Long, Spering, and Chamberlain each appeared in relief for the Loggers.
