The Lincoln Land Loggers men's basketball team took a giant step in the right direction against Lincoln College Saturday at Cass Gymnasium.
The end result was the Lincoln College Lynx 87 and LLCC 81 after double overtime, but the game is a huge improvement for the Loggers. Lincoln Land continues to be in every conference game, but has struggled to close the deal.

After calming down, Lincoln Land came storming back to take a lead into the final minute. The Lynx tied the game at 59 with: 06 left in regulation. Marcus Graham pushed the ball down the floor and the Loggers missed a shot and put back opportunity to win the game at the buzzer.
In overtime Lincoln Land held a lead throughout. With: 07 left the Loggers missed a free throw to seal the victory and Aaron Simpson hit a three pointer to tie it and push the game to a second overtime.
In the second OT the Lynx scored 6 straight points and that proved too much for the Loggers to overcome. Lincoln Land had the ball and a chance to tie on a side out of bounds with: 22 second left and turned the ball over. Lincoln College made free throws down the stretch and sealed the 87-81 Double OT victory.
Dwight Cunningham had a career night. Cunningham has 26 points and 10 rebounds. Marcus Graham put in 17. Garrett Williams and Quenton Lowe put in 11 apiece.
"This loss hurts, it does, but, we made great improvements. We have a few stretches where we took plays off and we dig ourselves in holes. If we can cut out those moments we will get over the hill. We had a lot of opportunities to win this game and we made some silly mistakes. We just need to improve on those," stated Coach Chad Jones.
