The Women's basketball team split at John A. Logan Classic. The Loggers lost to John A Logan 65-77 on Friday. Friday night's game started off slowly. Half-time score found the Loggers down 24-37. They kicked in gear and cut the lead down to 5 points with 3 minutes left in the second half. Unfortunately, John A. Logan came out on top and defeated the Loggers.
Breonna Lewis led the Loggers with 25 points and 3 rebounds. Shelby Kroeger put up 11 points and had 4 rebounds. Coach Albert said, "I was pleased with the effort and our pressure late in the game that caused some problems for Logan. Pressure was the key to our late comeback effort."
The Lady Loggers came back today, as they brought home a win defeating Triton College 85-36. The Loggers started the game off strong and ended the first half with the lead 43-16. The second half was the same as the first half with the Loggers finishing strong and bringing home the win.
Kasi Korza led the offensive attack with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Haley Lockhart followed with 20 points and 8 rebounds. The Loggers will take on Robert Morris at home on Wednesday the 20th.
