The trip to Mattoon, IL was a success for the #10 ranked Lincoln Land Women's Basketball team. The Loggers came away with a 69-51 victory over Lake Land College. The win pushed the Logger's record to 21-2 and 8-2 in the M-WAC.

The Lakers took an early 3 point lead but the Loggers quickly answered with a 2 point field goal by Zoey Beehn. There were 4 ties and 3 lead changes before Lincoln Land pulled away with a 13 point halftime advantage. Sophomore Alexis Wade and Freshman Isabella Tiburzi led the offense as they poured in 12 and 11 points respectively.

Entering the second half up 44-31, Lincoln Land continued to out score Lake Land 17-9 in the third period. The Loggers enjoyed a 61-49 lead after three periods of play. Tiburzi once again was the scoring catalyst with 6 points while Freshman Kylie Robinson added 5.

The final period was certainly a slow offensive frame. This was also the first quarter Lake Land out scored Lincoln Land. The Lakers did manage to secure an 11-8 scoring advantage but it was not enough to overcome the final 69-51 Logger victory.

Lincoln Land saw five Loggers hit a 3point basket. In addition, the Loggers went 14/15 from the free throw line.
Isabella Tiburzi finished with a team high 17 points. Alexis Wade scored 12 and Zoey Beehn hit 10. Rounding out the Logger's  scoring were: Kylie Robinson 9, Hunter Mowrey 7, Lauren Chastain 6, Lillie Woodworth 5, Ella Demler 3.

Lincoln Land will host Danville Area CC Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1:00pm in Cass Gym for their cancer awareness game.
