#9 Loggers Take Down the Blue Devils

Sophomore guard, Lillie Woodworth, drained five 3 point baskets to lead #9 Lincoln Land to an 84-41 victory over Kaskaskia College. The win moved the Loggers to 25-2 and 12-2 in the M-WAC.
A pull up jumper off the opening tip by Kylie Robinson, started the Logger's scoring. Lincoln Land went in to take a commanding 26-14 lead after one period of play. Ella Demler hit two 3 point buckets with Alexis Wade and Lillie Woodworth hitting one each.

Isabella Tiburzi came to life offensively for Lincoln Land in the second frame. The Carlinville High School forward scored 7 points against the KC zone defense. In addition, Josie Hughes, Lauren Chastain and Kylie Robinson all hit a 3-point basket. The result was a Logger halftime lead of 45-24.

Kylie Robinson was a key component to Lincoln Land's offense during the third quarter. The 5'5 guard drained a 3 and scored 7 points in the frame. Lincoln Land continued to expand their lead by outscoring KC 18-11 for a lead of 63-33.

The final quarter was the Lillie Woodworth show. Lillie hit three consecutive 3 pointers within 90 seconds to finish with 11 points in the quarter. Lincoln Land went on to score 21 points in the frame. The Logger defense stepped up as well to hold Kaskaskia to 8 fourth quarter points. The result was an 84-41 victory.

Lillie Woodworth led all scores with 23 points. In addition, she went 6/6 from the free throw line. Kylie Robinson scored 12 with Isabella Tiburzi and Ella Demler adding 11 and 10 respectively. Other Loggers in the scoring column were: Alexis Wade 8, Lauren Chastain 7, Hunter Mowrey 5, Zoey Beehn 4, Josie Hughes 4.

Lincoln Land is back in action Saturday, Feb. 21 as they host Illinois Central College in a 1:00 pm contest.
