Lincoln Land Stays Perfect on MLK Day

The #2 ranked Lincoln Land Loggers played host to Kaskaskia College in a Mid-West Athletic Conference matchup and won decisively by a score of 80-29.  Lincoln Land jumped to an early 13-0 lead and forced a Kaskaskia College timeout.  Lincoln Land used their full court press to speed up the tempo of the game and took a 19-6 lead into the first quarter break.  The second quarter was much of the same as the Loggers press cause three consecutive turnovers that led to easy scores and the Loggers held a 42-11 halftime lead.

The second half saw Kaskaskia go to a zone defense that slowed the tempo of the game, however, it did not slow the scoring and defense for the Loggers.  Lincoln Land out scored Kaskaskia 38-18 in the second half.  The Loggers placed five players in double figures.  Alexis Wade scored 16 to lead the Loggers.  Zoey Beehn scored 15, Kylie Robinson 12, Isabella Tiburzi 11, and Lillie Woodworth chipped in 10 points for the Loggers.

Isabella Tiburzi led the Loggers with 8 rebounds.  Alexis Wade dished out seven assists to lead Lincoln Land.  The Loggers improve to 19-0 on the season and 6-0 in MWAC play.  Lincoln Land will travel to #9 Parkland on Wednesday for what will be a battle of the conferences two undefeated teams.
