#2 Loggers Improve to 17-0 on the Season

The Lincoln Land women's basketball team rolled into Godfrey and took a 94-46 victory over Lewis & Clark. The nations #2 Loggers stayed perfect on the season and improved to 17-0 and 4-0 in M-WAC play.

Lincoln Land jumped out early to secure a 28-13 first quarter lead. Sophomores Lauren Chastain and Alexus Wade led the way offensively for the Loggers with 8 and 7 points respectively.
The second quarter was a long distance affair for Lincoln Land. Kylie Robinson, Alexis Wade, Lillie Woodworth and Isabella Tiburzi all went deep for a three. However, Lewis & Clark had their best scoring effort of the night with 16 points. Lincoln Land still managed to outscore the Trailblazers 27-16 for a 55-29 halftime advantage.

The defensive intensity picked up for Lincoln Land in the third period. The Loggers pressure allowed a mere 6 points to Lewis & Clark while pouring in 21. Freshmen Kylie Robinson drained her second three pointer of the game with Hunter Mowrey and Zoey Beehn scoring 5 points apiece.

Entering the final frame up 76-35, the Loggers outscored the Trailblazers 18-11. Mowrey and Lillie Woodworth led the offensive attack with 6 points. Wood worth knocked down her second three of the game during the period.

Freshman Zoey Beehn had another double/double on the night. The Owensboro, KY native scored 13 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Kylie Robinson led all scorers with a game high 19 points. Sophomores Lauren Chastain and Hunter Mowrey both had 16. Lillie Woodworth finished with 14 while Alexis Wade had 13. Freshmen Isabella Tiburzi and Ella Demler added 3 and 2 points respectively.

The Loggers are back in action Saturday, Jan. 17 at home to face Spoon River College in a 1:00 pm M-WAC contest.
