September 25, 2025 — Normal, IL (The Corn Crib)
Lincoln Land Community College Women's Soccer faced their second straight nationally ranked opponent on Thursday, traveling to take on
No. 4 Heartland Community College in an MWAC and Region XXIV matchup. The Loggers put together a strong defensive performance but came up just short, falling
1-0 to the Hawks. LLCC now sits at
9-2 overall (1-1 MWAC).
The Loggers had just faced
No. 12 Rock Valley the match prior, making this stretch one of their toughest of the season. Despite the challenge, LLCC showed it could
compete with top-15 programs in the country.
Both teams battled through a scoreless first half, with the Logger defense and goalkeeper
Elle Walker standing tall under pressure. Walker was outstanding, finishing with
19 saves to keep the Hawks frustrated for much of the contest.
The game remained level until the
68th minute, when Heartland broke through with the match's only goal.
LLCC continues MWAC play on
Saturday, September 27, traveling to Champaign to face
Parkland College at noon.
Final Score: Heartland 1 – LLCC 0
