Loggers Stymied By Heartland Hawks

The Loggers couldn't keep up with Heartland Hawks and fell 9-3 on Sunday. The Loggers opened the scoring in the third after Payten Mugele hit into a double play, but one run scored. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Heartland Hawks went back into the lead after Jesse Contreras singled down the right field line, and Charlie Linderman singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.
Ethan Hurst hit a solo inside the park home run in the top of the sixth for the Loggers. The Loggers scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to right field by Braylan Smith.
Jacob O'Day earned the win for Heartland Hawks. The pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking four. Mark Wolak took the loss for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher went five and one-third innings, allowing six runs on 13 hits, striking out two and walking one. Ethan Hurst led the Loggers with two hits in three at bats. Payten Mugele, Ethan Hurst, and Braylan Smith each drove in one run for the Loggers.
Heartland Hawks piled up 15 hits in the game. Brady Davidson led Heartland Hawks with three hits in five at bats. Jimmy Anderson and Luke Ramsey each drove in two runs for Heartland Hawks. Tony Konopiots and Max Hennemann each collected multiple hits for Heartland Hawks. Heartland Hawks turned one double play in the game. Heartland Hawks were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jake Parpet had the most chances in the field with nine.

Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff As Loggers Falls To Heartland Hawks

The Loggers fell to Heartland Hawks 7-6 on Sunday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Charlie Linderman singled, scoring one run.
Heartland Hawks rallied for the victory despite trailing 4-0 in the third. The Loggers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. The Loggers first got on the board when Ethan Hurst doubled, scoring one run. The Loggers scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to right field by Seth Winkler.
Heartland Hawks tied the game up in the bottom of the third thanks to two home runs. Heartland Hawks tied the game at four on a home run to right field by Kaden Griffitts. Heartland Hawks took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Tony Konopiots hit a solo home run to left field, to give Heartland Hawks the leg up, 5-4.
Colbie Glenn singled to center field, which helped the Loggers tie the game at five in the top of the sixth. A single by Ethan Hurst gave the Loggers the lead, 6-5, in the top of the seventh. Heartland Hawks captured the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the seventh after Jesse Contreras hit a sacrifice fly, and Charlie Linderman singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Dylan Nagle earned the win for Heartland Hawks. The hurler allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Bryce Buhs took the loss for the Loggers. The hurler went one-third of an inning, surrendering two runs on two hits, striking out none and walking one. Seth Impson stepped on the bump first for the Loggers. The starter allowed 10 hits and five runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Jake Gimbel led things off on the mound for Heartland Hawks. The starter gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking none.
Payten Mugele and Ethan Hurst were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Loggers while hitting back-to-back. Ethan Hurst and Seth Winkler each drove in two runs for the Loggers.
Heartland Hawks amassed 12 hits in the game. Kaden Griffitts provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Heartland Hawks with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Tony Konopiots, Charlie Linderman, and Kaden Griffitts each collected two hits for Heartland Hawks. Heartland Hawks turned one double play in the game.
