Loggers Sweep on the Day

Game 1 - Winkler Drives 4 Runners Home In Loggers Victory Over Spoon River College

Seth Winkler drove in four runs on one hit to lead the Loggers past Spoon River College 13-3 on Monday. In the second inning, Seth Winkler homered to center field, scoring three runs.

The Loggers scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Braylan Smith singled, scoring one run, Brooks Neuhoff doubled, scoring one run, Nolan Turner drew a walk, scoring one run, Seth Winkler was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Payten Mugele drew a walk, scoring one run, Ethan Hurst hit into a double play, but one run scored, and Seth Impson singled, scoring one run.

Spoon River College were the first to get on the board in the first when Roderick Tanamor homered to right field, scoring three runs. The Loggers added two runs in the third. Kaeden Bowles singled to left field, making the score 6-3.

Andrew Hendrickson earned the win for Loggers. The righty surrendered four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Noah Suttles took the loss for Spoon River College. The starter went four innings, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking two.

The Loggers amassed 10 hits in the game. Seth Impson led the Loggers with three hits in four at bats. Braylan Smith and Brooks Neuhoff each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers turned two double plays in the game. The Loggers didn't commit a single error in the field. Payten Mugele had the most chances in the field with six.

Roderick Tanamor drove the middle of the lineup, leading Spoon River College with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Ryne Crum, Colin Karr, Roderick Tanamor, and Chase Gerwig each collected one hit for Spoon River College. Spoon River College turned one double play in the game.

Game 2 - Loggers Defeats Spoon River College On Back Of Clutch Display From Hurst

Ethan Hurst drove in five runs on three hits to lead the Loggers past Spoon River College 16-5 on Monday. In the fourth inning, Ethan Hurst hit a grand slam to center field.

The Loggers won thanks in part to 11 runs in the fourth inning. Ethan Hurst was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Payten Mugele drew a walk, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, Colbie Glenn drew a walk, scoring one run, Nolan Turner drew a walk, scoring one run, Seth Winkler drew a walk, scoring one run, Andrew Hendrickson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Ethan Hurst hit a grand slam to center field.

Spoon River College were the first to get on the board in the third when Ryne Crum doubled, scoring two runs. The Loggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Seth Winkler following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two.

Trent Koehler earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking six. Korbin Woerly took the loss for Spoon River College. The starter went three innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, striking out four and walking six.

Seth Winkler paced the Loggers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game.

Ryne Crum drove the middle of the lineup, leading Spoon River College with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Nash Clementz led Spoon River College with two hits in three at bats. Kellen Hook stole two bases. Spoon River College turned one double play in the game. Spoon River College were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Stephen Stufflebeam made the most plays with seven.

Loggers will travel to Lake Land Lakers for their next game on Tuesday.
