A strong second half propelled the Lincoln Land Loggers Women's Basketball team to a 62-45 victory over Chattahoochee Valley. The #3 ranked Loggers came back from a 16-10 first quarter deficit to advance to the Elite 8.
Lincoln Land found it challenging to score in the first quarter. The Loggers only managed to score two field goals in the frame. Fortunately, Lincoln Land went 6-8 from the line to stay close. SamLindhorst and Megan Harrell were both 2-2 from the charity stripe.
The second quarter was the Logger's second best offensive output of the game. The Loggers were finally able to solve some of the multiple defenses Chattahoochee played. Lincoln Land outscored the Pirates 18-12 to even the contest at 28 entering halftime. Sam Lindhorst and Alexis Wade both hit 3 point baskets while Megan Harrell pumped in 6 points in the quarter.
Both teams stepped up their dense throughput the third quarter. A low scoring period saw Lincoln Land outscore the Pirates 14-13. Whitney Rumbold and Durbin Thomas each hit a 3 point basket to give the Loggers a 38-36 lead after three periods of play.
Entering the final frame, Lincoln Land flexed its muscle and completely dominated the quarter. The Loggers scored a game high 20 while holding Chattahochee to a dismal 4 points. The Loggers were able to draw the 5th foul on Chattahoochee's leading scorer, Zy Thompson, early in the period. Alexis Wade finished a 4 point play when she was fouled on a made 3 point basket midway through the period. From that point on , the Logger's defense shut down the tired Pirate offense as the Loggers out scores Chattahoochee 20-4 to advance to the Elite 8.
Megan Harrell had a game high 20 points and 11 rebounds. She also drew 3 charges in the contest. Alexis Wade went 3/3 from behind the arc and finished with 12 points. Sam Lindhorst scored 10 points.

Lincoln Land will play in the round of 8 Wednesday, March 19 against Pima. Game time is 8:00pm central time.
