Lincoln Land closed out the semester on the road and fell to the Eagles of Illinois Valley Community College 111-87.
The Loggers got the first bucket of the game and held the early advantage building up a small lead before the Eagles got back to even at 8-8. The game then turned into one of runs. First, Illinois Valley rattled off an 8-0 run to take a 16-8 lead and eventually were up 20-10. LLCC immediately went on a 12-1 run of their own to get back in the lead at 22-21. However, the lead was short-lived as the Eagles raced right back on a 10-0 run and the Loggers found themselves double digits for much of the remaining contest from that point. The Eagles pushed their advantage out to 51-37 going in to the break.Â
The Loggers came out with one more mini-run putting in early buckets and got 11 of the first 15 points of the half to get back within 9 at 57-48. The teams traded buckets until the score sat at 59-50 and the Loggers were showing life. However, the Loggers then relinquished the largest run of the game as IVCC rattled off 18 straight points in just 3:00 of game play and all of the sudden the Loggers found themselves down 77-50. Lincoln Land was unable to muster up enough a charge to get back with anything lower than 17 over the closing 12:00 minutes of game play until they eventually fell 111-87.
The one spark for the Loggers was Keshaun Harlan who came off the bench to be the second 30+ point scorer of the season for the Loggers. Keshaun had 17 in the first half and ended with a career high 30. Freshman Jalen Ashley was the only other Loggers to get in to double digits, ending with his average of 18 points.Â
Lincoln Land falls to 3-4 on the season as they head into their Christmas break until January 3, 2026 when they will kick off Mid-West Athletic Conference play against John Wood at 3:00 pm at home in Cass Gymnasium .Â
