The #9 ranked Lincoln Land women's basketball team played host the St. Louis Community College and cruised to victory by a score of 88-41. Lincoln Land jumped to an early lead up 24-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Logger press forced seven St. Louis turnovers in the period. The Loggers pulled off the press in the second quarter. The Loggers slowed the pace offensively, yet still managed to out score the Archers 24-9 in the period to take a 48-17 half time. Every Logger in uniform saw substantial minutes in the first half.
The second half continued the same for Lincoln Land. As the game wore on, the Logger transition game began to take a toll on St. Louis. Lincoln Land scored 25 points in the third period to just 10 for St. Louis. The Loggers saw eleven different players score it the 88-41 victory.
The Loggers were led in scoring by Isabella Tiburzi with 18 points. Tiburzi went six of six from the free throw line. Kylie Robinson chipped in 13 points. Sophomore Lauren Chastain had a season high of 12 points, and Zoey Beehn contributed 11. Beehn and Tiburzi both pulled down a team high five rebounds. The Loggers improve to 4-0 on the year and will play in the Logger Classic this weekend. Lincoln Land will face off against College of Lake County on Friday night at 7:30pm at Cass Gym. This will be a matchup of unbeaten teams, as Lake County is yet to lose on the year.
