Story:
The Lincoln Land Loggers, who entered the match with a perfect 8-0 record, faced defeat on September 25, 2024, in Mount Carmel, IL, falling 3-2 to Wabash Valley College, a team yet to win this season (0-5-2). Despite a strong performance, the Loggers could not hold off a late-game surge from Wabash Valley, who scored twice in the 89th minute to secure the upset.

Wabash Valley struck first in the 16th minute, taking an early lead. Lincoln Land responded in the 29th minute, with Kinley Richardson finishing a pass from Tetee Jallah to bring the game level at 1-1. The Loggers took the lead in the second half when Kyndel Moore scored in the 64th minute, giving them a 2-1 advantage.

Loggers' goalkeeper Elle Walker had a solid first half, making six saves and allowing only one goal before leaving in the second half due to injury. Abi Stephens stepped in and made three saves, including a critical penalty kick stop. However, Wabash Valley mounted a stunning comeback with two quick goals in the 89th minute, handing the Loggers their first loss of the season.

Lincoln Land managed eight shots in total, five of which were on target, but they were unable to capitalize on their chances. The Loggers also earned one corner kick in the first half but none in the second.
