The Lincoln Land Loggers opened up their season today by hosting the Joliet Wolves where the temperatures rose above 90 degrees.

The first half was controlled by the Loggers as they possessed most of the first half on their attacking side of the field. Kaleigh Meyer broke open the scoring in the (11^th minute) on a cross from Kinley Richardson. The second goal ( 18^th minute) came after Kyndel Moore capitalized on a penalty kick, when Moore was taking down inside the box after getting behind the defense on a through ball from Sophia Smith. Sophia Smith would then find a goal (30^th minute) of her own on a drop pass from the end line by Tatyana Mehundrew. Kyndel Moore found her second goal (31^st minute) of the game by getting behind the defense and beating the Wolve's Keeper in a one-v-one after a great pass from Makayla Elam. 

The Wolves made some changes at half time, which lead to them having more possession in the second half. However, the Loggers would find the net again after Sophia Smith intercepted a pass and dropped it back to Tetee Jallah, Jallah then played a long pass to Kilyn Simmons,  then Simmons one timed it behind the defense that allowed Kaleigh Meyer a one-v-one with the Wolves keeper, when Meyer passed it to a corner to score her second goal (79^th minute) of the game.  The final goal came when Hailey Brinkley passed the ball to Kyndel Moore inside the box, who then played a quick pass to Kinley Richardson, but Richardson had her first shot blocked by the defense but was able to follow it up on a second chance, to get her first goal (81^st minute) of the game.

Elle Walker received the start today and finished with four saves. Abi Stephens played the second half to close out the shutout with five saves.

The Loggers travel on Monday to take on the College of Dupage from Glen Ellyn, IL
