#6 Lincoln Land women's basketball team met up with D1 Rend Lake and came away with a 77-52 victory. The Loggers improved their record to 8-0.
Lincoln Land took control from the very beginning with a 19-8 first quarter lead. Sophomore Megan Harrell owned the paint while scoring 6 points early in the period. The Lincoln Land transition game became a weapon in the second period which led to several buckets by Alexis Wade, Lauren Chastain and Whitney Rumbold. The Loggers increased their lead over the Warriors to 34-22 at the half.
The third and fourth quarters were dominated by Lincoln Land. Three point baskets by Durbin Thomas, Alexis Wade, Lauren Chastain and Madysyn Butler were key for the Loggers. Taylor Blehm was a force on the block and poured in 10 points throughout the second half. Rend Lake stayed somewhat in the contest by hitting several three point buckets. However, the Loggers were never threatened and won going away 77-52.
Alexis Wade finished with a team high 18 points. Megan Harrell pulled down 13 rebounds. Durbin Thomas dished out 10 assists. Lincoln Land is back in action Saturday, Nov. 30 as they host Jefferson College in a 1:00 contest at Cass Gym.
