The Lincoln Land men's basketball team welcomes the NJCAA Division 2 #4 nationally ranked Pirates of North Central Missouri and fell 79-44.
Lincoln Land held only one lead in the game and it came at 7-5. In their previous contest the Logger leads only held for a single possession and tonight was the same as NCMC scored to immediately tie it back up. Lincoln Land has been the victim of scoring droughts and large runs by their opponents this season and unfortunately that opponent run came just halfway through the first half With just over 10:00 in the half remaining and the score knotted at 9, the Pirates rattled off the next 7 points to take the lead they never would give up. In fact, the Pirates went on a 22-5 run over the next 7:00. In the closing 2:30 the Pirates also put together a second 7-0 to end the half on a total run of 32-9. The halftime score was 41-18 in favor of North Central Missouri. To start the second half the Pirates again went on a 7-0 run and quickly the Loggers found themselves down by 30. LLCC got under 30 only once and were trailing by as many as 38 on three occasions on the way to the final 79-44 score.
With a game of scoring struggles sophomore Camden Nelson was the only Logger in double digits ending with 10. Michael Tyler did not score at a great clip, ending with only 4 points, but Tyler finished the game with 9 blocks and 7 rebounds.
Lincoln Land slumps to 0-7 on the season. Their next contest is in a week on next Saturday after a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday.
