The Loggers defeat Parkland College 6-0 to complete the regular season with a 13-2 record

The Loggers capped off their regular season with a commanding 6-0 victory over Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, on October 23, 2024. The win brought their record to 13-2 and earned them home-field advantage for their next playoff game, a first in school history.

The scoring opened in the 12th minute when Kyndel Moore headed in a cross from Kinley Richardson. Just seven minutes later, Moore doubled the lead. On a corner kick from Makayla Elam, Moore's header forced a fumble from the Parkland goalkeeper, allowing her to calmly finish the rebound for her second goal of the game.

In the 29th minute, Moore once again created danger with a back-post shot that the Parkland keeper couldn't handle. Sophia Smith raced in to finish the rebound, extending the lead to 3-0 before halftime.

In the second half, the Loggers continued to press their advantage. In the 54th minute, Sophia Smith sent a perfect cross into the box that found Kaleigh Meyer, who slotted it home to make it 4-0. Four minutes later, Adi Fraase added a fifth goal, heading in another Elam corner.

Moore completed her hat trick in the 59th minute by intercepting a outlet pass from the Parkland keeper and finishing calmly into the corner of the net.

Goalkeeper Elle Walker recorded two saves and kept a clean sheet, while the Loggers tallied 31 total shots, with 18 on target, with 11 corner kicks.

The Loggers now turn their attention to the playoffs, where they will host Kaskaskia College on Friday, November 1st, at 2 PM as the #2 seed.
