Loggers Come Back Strong Defeating Vincennes After Loss to ICC

LLCC vs ICC Game 1:
The Loggers stayed in it until the end, but Illinois Central College pulled away late in a 12-10 victory on Wednesday.  The game was tied at ten with Illinois Central College Cougars Varsity batting in the top of the ninth when Josh Heyder hit a solo homer. The Loggers collected eight hits and ICC had 15 in the high-scoring affair.

Lincoln Land got on the board in the first inning.  Grant Pohlman's sac fly scored one run for the Loggers. In the top of the fifth inning, the Cougars tied things up at ten.  Zach Otten drove in two when Otten doubled. Illinois Central scored six runs in the second inning. Camden  Porter, Luke Doty, Beau Durbin and Heyder, each had RBIs in the frame. Jake Jacek was credited with the victory for ICC. The bulldog allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out two. Beau Benny threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Adam Lindsey toed the rubber for the Loggers. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out two and walking zero. Evan Herpsteith, Brannan Kraft, and Evan Addis each contributed in relief for the Loggers. Gage Burdick started the game for ICC. The fireballer went one inning, allowing seven runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Lincoln Land smacked one home run on the day. Drew Ezard put one out in the third inning. Will Rohlk led the Loggers with three hits in five at bats.

ICC racked up 15 hits. Josh  Heyder, Kaleb Guaf, Tyler Bishop, Matt Evens and Zach Otten each had multiple hits for Illinois Central College. Heyder went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead ICC in hits.

LLCC vs Vincennes Game 2:
Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between the Loggers and Vincennes University where the Loggers prevailed 13-9. Lincoln Land got on the board in the second inning when Ryan Maul singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The Loggers pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Hunter Moser homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs. Lincoln Land put up four runs in the fourth inning.  LLCC scored its runs on a grand slam by Drew Ezard. Vincennes scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Vincennes batters contributing to the big inning included Colin Long and Dale Coy, who all drove in runs.

Ben Draeger took the win for the Loggers. The righty allowed eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out six.  Logan Antrim and Mitch Dye entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Josh McCormick took the loss for Vincennes University. McCormick surrendered seven runs on six hits over three and a third innings, striking out four.

The Loggers tallied two home runs on the day. Moser went yard in the third inning. Ezard had a homer in the fourth inning. Lincoln Land saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game.  Luke Kracik, Will Rohlk, Moser, and Maul all managed multiple hits for the Loggers.  Kracik led Lincoln Land with three hits in five at bats. Vincennes  tallied 13 hits on the day.  Kade Hinton, Colton Evans, Jace Parnin, and Coy each racked up multiple hits.
